Kara writes children's books that celebrate the joys of childhood. Her first book, Everybody Can Dance!, was released May 28, 2019 and made Amazon's #1 New Release in Children's Dance Books that first week. It has also been featured on BBC's Bedtime Stories show, CBeebies. It celebrates diversity. showing children of all cultures and abilities experiencing the joy of dance together.
Her second book "Maggie Discovers the Rainbow" launched on March 21, 2023. In this magical adventure a cautious girl learns the rewards of stepping out of your comfort zone as she flies through all the colors of the rainbow and experiences what all the colors feel like.

Story time, art activity for kids as part of Walnut Creek's Art Around August program. Free and open to the public. Each Saturday in August a different local author will read their book and lead an art project.
Experience the Bedford's current show "Sight Unseen" following story time with Kara - Kara will read her book "Everybody Can Dance" and other picture books to help children experience the current exhibit. Family Day at the Lesher Center for the Arts and Bedford Gallery goes from 10am to 2:30pm with free music, face painting, chalk art, and lots of fun for the whole family.
Now booking classroom visits (virtual or in person in the San Francisco Bay Area) - Kara will read Everybody Can Dance! and lead a dance party, discuss the writing/publishing process in kid-friendly language, or share Maggie Discovers the Rainbow and lead an art project and discussion of emotions and using color to express ourselves. Everybody Can Dance was featured on BBC's CBeeBies Bedtime Stories. Read by Rose Ayling-Ellis, a deaf actress who won Britain's version of "Dancing with the Stars" (called "Strictly Come Dancing" in the UK).
